Sunshine is the sweetest girl. She had to go into emergency surgery last night. She's recovering well and is nearly out of danger, but the procedure is WAY more than we can afford! Our girl has spread a lot of joy in this world, and I hope many our friends can find it in our heart to help!

Sunny has been Flora Meeker's service dog and she got Flora through High School and College. Sunny became the semi-official Mascot for Capen House at Smith College and was beloved by that community from her perch in Flora's window.

We thought she was just having an icky belly, but it turns out she was experiencing a raging uterine infection. Thankfully the wonderful staff at Mountain View Animal Emergency were able to swing into action and into the operating room for an emergency hysterectomy. While the blood loss was significant, the vets believe they were in time and she should have a full recovery and be able to come home in the next 24-48 hours. But that kind of care doesn't come cheaply.
