Please help support Shawnn and her family
Donation protected
It is with deep sadness that I convey the passing of Shawnn Gallagher. Today, she passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Shawnn has found solace after a challenging battle with ILD; she was only 54 years old. Her presence had a profound and positive impact, not only on my life but also on the lives of others fortunate enough to know her. Reflecting on the positive moments and the influence she had is a meaningful way to honor her life and lasting legacy. Grieving is a personal journey, and it's crucial to take the time needed for reflection and healing. Shawnn's family expresses gratitude for the continuous support, donations and for all those who were able to visit her . At this time, details regarding services or a Celebration of Life are not known.
Sweet Shawnn!
Around two years ago, Shawnn received a diagnosis of ILD (Interstitial Lung Disease), a condition that presents considerable challenges and, in the best-case scenario, often leads to the necessity of a lung transplant. Meeting the criteria for a transplant involves reaching various milestones, and unfortunately, Shawnn, like many others, has been unable to fulfill these requirements in time and is currently in ICU in critical condition
For those fortunate enough to have Shawnn in their lives, her immense heart is evident. Always ready to assist anyone in need, she radiates sensitivity, positivity, and possesses a gift for seeing the best in people and situations. Shawnn and Ken share strong Irish roots, having been happily married for over 13 years and blessed with a beautiful son named Riley who is 12. Both are dedicated City of Irvine employees, with Shawnn having served over 20 years in Community Services as a Senior Services graphic artist before transitioning to the Public Information office. Ken holds a supervisory role in Public Works.
Tragically, Shawnn lost her mother, Sue, several years ago. Since then, her father, Dave, and Ken have been unwaveringly supportive caregivers for Shawnn.
During this challenging time, we extend an invitation for you to contribute whatever you feel comfortable donating to help support Shawnn and her family.
With heartfelt appreciation,
The Gallaghers and Addies
