Please help support Sarah Saunders on her medical journey.

Hi, my name is Courtney. I am posting this on behalf of my stepsister, Sarah Brown Saunders. She was involved in a head-on collision on Saturday, July 27, on 607 Southbound in MS. Another vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lane and hit her head-on.

She was airlifted to UMC in New Orleans where she underwent emergency surgery to repair her ruptured bladder, hernia, and ruptures to her lower intestines. In addition to that, she is suffering from a broken nose, broken sternum, broken ribs, punctured lungs, broken feet, broken hip, broken pelvis along with a severe concussion and several deep contusions covering most of the surface of her body.

When the impact took place, both vehicles involved caught on fire. Sarah was pulled out by a very brave bystander moments before the vehicle became completely engulfed in flames.

Sarah is a loving mother whose son just started his first day of his senior year in high-school at Bay High. She is a fiancé, daughter, sister, and great friend.

I am asking for your help to help her in this time of need as she was recently laid off and set to start her new career on August 5th. She is devastated and heartbroken that this will not be taking place. Being in between jobs has left her without health insurance, though she has applied for emergency medical insurance, it has not yet kicked in.

She will be in the hospital for an extended period of time awaiting her second surgery for her hips & pelvis.
