We never imagined we’d ever be sharing this kind of news, but here it goes.

Back in December, my sister and I were visiting our parents and siblings for Christmas. Prior to our visit, our mother had been experiencing some symptoms that seemed innocent enough at first and initially gave us no cause for concern, but quickly became increasingly worse! I was the first to arrive at my parents house and texted my sisters immediately upon seeing our mother, recognizing that she didn’t look well. We agreed we would talk to her, convince her we should go to the hospital to at least rule out anything serious but that she should get checked out to be on the safe side. We took her in hoping it was just a false alarm. A minor problem that would be resolved in no time. We could never have imagined the night we took her to the hospital for what we thought would be some routine tests and simple treatment for a simple problem, would result in a 3 night hospital stay (which included a blood transfusion among other things) and an eventual stage 4 cancer diagnosis! We were, and still are shocked to say the least. Many of you already know and love our mother and you know she’s been through enough in one lifetime. I’ve seen this community rally in support of so many during difficult and impossible circumstances time and time again! You’ve done so for my family on multiple occasions, including back in 2012 when our family suffered a devastating house fire resulting in the loss of 2 of our brothers and our sister and the very same woman, our amazing, strong, devoted, mother was then hospitalized for shock and incredibly severe smoke inhalation for which she was placed in a medically induced coma for 2 weeks and still feels the effects in her lungs to this day. Next month (February) will make 14 years since that tragic day and again my mom faces yet another trial. But by the grace of God, she will make it through and will be stronger for it and will have an even greater testimony!

So many of you have reached out and asked how you can help and for now, the answer is simple. First and foremost, prayer! Please join us in praying for our mother’s total healing and complete recovery. Secondly, we need funds! Funds to help pay for medical costs and treatments, living expenses, finances to help with travel

expenses as me and my sister live out of state, but will continue making trips back

to NC to be with our parents and to care for our mom, making sure she has the continuous support and around the clock care that she needs. Any and all financial help for my parents! My dad so desires to take a step back from work and to be home with his wife in her time of need but of course in order to do that…we need funds! Again, this isn’t something we’d ever thought we’d face and asking for help in any capacity isn’t something that comes easily, but it shouldn’t be that way. No one should ever bear such a burden alone and we know we are NOT alone. So many have stepped up already to show their support and we can’t thank you enough! This is just one practical way you can continue to be a help and support to our family but if you couldn’t give a single penny, your PRAYERS would be a far greater benefit!!! We’re believing God
