Hello everyone,
Our name is Jennifer and Alejandro; and we are reaching out to our family, friends, & community in regards to our 9 yr. old daughter Allie. Some of you may know a little bit of her story from my fb postings from the time she was little, until now. Those who don't, let me just say Allies Medical journey has been a long, painful, frustrating, and challenging one. From respiratory problems to intestinal problems, Allie has good days and bad days.
Allie was born a fraternal twin @ 31 wks. W/in 48 hrs Allie's health took a turn for the worst. She was intubated twice; which damaged Allies lungs amongst other underlining issues. Because bile kept getting into her lungs, viral and bacterial infections made it hard for Allie to breathe or eat on her own. After 5 months of being in the NICU, Allie had a full intestinal Malrotaion done. ( small and large intestines were taking out, unraveleved and put back in. With small intestine on one side & large intestine put on the other side). She had her appendix taken out, & a g-tube put in, all in one surgery. (picture of scars on tummy are atrached).
Allie came home w/ oxygen tanks & eating from bolas bags that went through her g-tube. She spent her 1st five years of life in and out of hospitals. At 3 1/2 years old her g-tube was taken out perminately & completely off oxygen @ 5 yrs. old. Her journey did not stop there. She continues to struggle with Chronic pulmonary issues and Chronic gastro intestinal issues.
Allie is in constant pain and feeling ill. Her symptoms are only progressing. Through an MRE we just found out that Allie may have a partial obstruction/ blockage in her small intestine and/ or chronic IBS motility disorder. The partial obstruction/blockage in her Intestine can be fatal to Allie.
Allies Gastrointerologist here in the Valley had referred her to UCSF in San Franscisco. After her consultation in July with them, they now referred her to thier GI peds team in UCSF Oakland who specializes in IBS motility disorders. Starting in October, Allie will be traveling to them once a week, and that's not including the in-between appointments to her GI primary doctor in San Mateo or procedues/surgery in Oakland.
We are asking on Allies behalf, if you can please kindly help us with a small donation to help us with Allies travel expenses, gas, food, and hotel expenses. We can not do this alone.
If you can not help financially, we also ask for continued prayers for our little girl, and please share her story. WE WILL KEEP YOU ALL UPDATED ON ALLIES STATUS. Thank you all in advance. We appreciate you all.
If you are uncomfortable with the go fund me & would like to donate stright to our Allie, you can cash app me or her dad @ $yenyyen01 or $Alexcarlos777. *These funds will only be used towards Allies Medical travel journey.
