Our little Dimbulah community has been hit with the most heartbreaking news. One of our own, 10-year-old Rhyker Sanderson, has just been diagnosed with B-ALL (B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia), a type of blood cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow.

Rhyker is one of seven beautiful children, and in an instant, his family’s entire world has been turned upside down.

Tomorrow, this incredibly brave little boy begins chemotherapy down in Brisbane. His family have had to leave their home, their jobs, their community and their normal lives behind as they face what no parent ever should — watching their child fight cancer.

Instead of simply being a kid, playing with his siblings and enjoying everyday life, Rhyker now faces hospital, treatment and an incredibly long road ahead.

His family are trying to process the worst news imaginable while also working out how they will manage life away from home for what could be a very long time.

Funds raised will help with things such as:
• Travel between Dimbulah and Brisbane
• Accommodation and living expenses while Rhyker receives treatment
• Food and everyday essentials • Fuel and parking for hospital visits
• Expenses associated with being away from home for an extended period
• Supporting the family and Rhyker’s siblings during this incredibly difficult time
• Any unexpected costs that arise throughout Rhyker’s treatment and recovery

This is where we can help.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help ease some of the financial pressure on Rhyker’s family while they focus on what matters most — being there for their little boy.

If you can’t donate, please share this fundraiser. A simple share could reach someone who can help.

From our little Dimbulah community to Brisbane — Rhyker, you have an army behind you. We are thinking of you, praying for you, cheering you on and sending you all the strength in the world.

FIGHT LIKE A WARRIOR, RHYKER.

Beneficiary & Disclosure Information: The beneficiaries of this fundraiser are Katie Leigh-Bell and Lochie Sanderson, Rhyker’s parents.

I, Kirra Stevens (Organiser), am a member of the Dimbulah Community and Rhyker’s sibling’s support worker. I have become close with the family over the past few years and am in direct contact with Katie and Lochie, with their knowledge and support in organising this fundraiser.

Katie and Lochie have been added as beneficiaries, meaning all funds raised will be transferred directly to them to support Rhyker and their family. Funds will help with treatment-related expenses, travel between Dimbulah and Brisbane, accommodation, food, fuel, parking, everyday living costs and supporting Rhyker’s siblings throughout his treatment and recovery.
