Hi, I wanted to reach out to my dear friends and colleagues and ask for support.

One of my high school students at St. Paul's Chong Ha Sang is going through very difficult times right now. Arturo Soto, a high school junior at Cardozo High School, is in critical conditions and needs more medical attention now than ever. This is not a COVID related case, as they tested negative, but his vision is being affected and doctors could not find the cause for the past few months. After many genetic testings and scans, they received the results on July 10th. Arturo is diagnosed with Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON). My heart breaks to see him suffering, when just a few months ago I saw him at church full of joy and smiling. 

His mother, Carmen, has asked for our prayers and we have been continuing to pray for them. As a single mother, Carmen is doing the best she can to support her son and find the best treatments out there. She is looking into genetic specialists in California as well. We would like to financially support Ms. Carmen and her son, Arturo, during these crucial times. Although we have raised a generous amount that has exceeded our first goal, we are asking that you help us continue to send support for their next steps in California.
