Please Help Support Leslie's Recovery

Earlier this month, my Mom, Leslie, took a mountain bike trip to Moab, UT with her friends. On the second day of riding, she had a bad crash on the Amasa Back trail where she went over the handlebars. As she landed, somehow her brake lever impaled her left leg behind her knee.
Thanks to her friends coming back to look for her and good cell coverage, her friends were able to be directed by the dispatch paramedics to not remove the brake as it could be life-threatening. Luckily, one of her friends had the right tools to remove the brake lever from her bike and when the medics arrived on the scene and assessed her lack of pulse in her left foot, it was decided she should be transported immediately by helicopter from the trail to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction.
Once the emergency and vascular surgery team removed the brake lever and assessed her injuries, she went into surgery to repair her popliteal artery, which was torn internally and clotted by the blunt force of the brake lever. Her incision consisted of 15 staples on the back of her leg and she also has a deep puncture wound from the impalement. The injury Mom got was so unheard of that the vascular team even made a case study out of it. She spent two nights recovering there and was released to her friends to give her a ride back to Denver.
As you all know the health care system in this country is expensive and any donation amount will make a difference in our lives as we will be getting lots of medical bills. We can also use any donations to help with keeping up our meals, groceries, and household upkeep until my mother is back to 100%.
