Please help support Katy’s healing journey

Hi everybody—my name is Katy. I am the mom of two beautiful kids, and soon to be step-mom to two more awesome kids. My partner and I have the privilege of living with and raising this crazy bunch of kiddos.

I’ve been on a scary, up-and-down medical journey for a couple of months, and it looks like it will be a while before we find all the answers we need.

At the beginning of November, I was told I have metastatic cancer. Since then, we have (luckily) discovered it’s not metastatic, but we haven’t ruled out other cancers. The doctors also found that I have an autoimmune disorder that will affect me the rest of my life. All of these things have made it impossible for me to work right now, and we don’t know when I’ll be able to go back.

We have been so blessed to have many friends and chosen family come help us with meals, housework, and other things we’ve needed. But we have come to that unfortunate place far too many of us find ourselves in: medical bills and other expenses are piling up, and it’s getting harder and harder to pay them while I’m out of work. On top of these, the holidays, daily expenses, and high rent prices, we are struggling.
