Hi, my name is Lauren and I'm fundraising for my friend Kacy who's kitty, Eggs, is having a horrendous time with his physical health. As we all know, veterinarian care is extremely expensive, especially in Los Angeles. With your help, we can alleviate Kacy's financial stress so she can take care of her baby.
Here is Kacy's story about what has been going on with her kitty:
Last week I rushed my cat Eggs to the emergency vet because he had been throwing up and refusing food. I took him to Metropolitan Animal Specialty Hospital in Los Angeles. He ended up needing to get a Subcutaneous ureteric bypass or SUB Surgery for a blockage. His kidney was inflamed and he couldn’t pass what was blocking up his ureter. I’m now finding out after the fact that this surgery comes with the constant upkeep of this port with SUB Flushes, I wasn’t told this at all by the multiple doctors or surgeons I spoke with at MASH.
I was on told when I picked him up that he would need to come in for a flush in a week and then have his sutures removed, that’s it no additional info about this on the paperwork. So I thought once this procedure was done it would help him with not getting blockages, but now it requires constant flushes to prevent that in his SUB port. There needs to be another flush a week from now and another 3 weeks from now, then subsequently every 3-6 months. They charged me $429 just to have this initial flush done today.
Then next they want me to go to a different Internal Medicine department where they will charge a $200 consult as well as the cost of the procedure again. I have already spent $16,304 on this surgery to begin with.
Now, Eggs is having even more of a challenge and needs antibiotics to help with a bacterial infection so this bill has exceeded $20,000.
Yep, twenty thousand dollars.
Kacy shouldn't have to choose between her cat and her financial well being. With your help, we can help her by helping relieve some of the financial burden she is dealing with.
