Hello,
First of all, thankyou for being here and showing your support!
My name is Renee, and Jesse is my amazing husband, best friend and partner for life.
On July 1st 2024 Jesse was admitted into hospital for possible drainage of a mass on his neck after seeing the dentist for concerns of a infection in the Jaw.
The doctors made the instant decision to send him through for Scans and blood work as they suspected Lymphoma Cancer.
On the same day, our family received the horrible news, the doctors suspicions we're right and our dear Jesse had infact a very aggressive and late stages of Lymphoma.
After 3 nights in hospital awaiting for his biopsy, I sat and watched my husband deteriorate. It was the worst and most painful moment of my life, watching your loved one fading and not being able to do anything to help.
Jesse suffered excruciating side affects, from uncontrollable fevers, rapid weight-loss, and body pain just to name a few, In just 3 nights, he lost 3kgs!
After numerous scans, blood work, medications, fertility treatments/clinics etc, We finally had Jesse's diagnosis.
"Advanced Stage 4 Classical hodgkin's Lymphoma" Cancer. Aswell as signs of "T-Cell" Cancer! Both blood and bone cancers!!
We we're in beyond disbelief, Jesse has always been fit and healthy.
But this explains his "sickness" he's had for YEARS! Yes, years is right, Jesse was misdiagnosed by many general practitioners resulting in the Cancer to be so aggressive we didn't have much time before treatment needed to start, and that he did.
Jesse is required to have 12 rounds of ABVD chemotherapy every 2 weeks. It's a very fast acting drug to kill the Cancer cells that are rapidly spreading from his neck, leading a trail of cluster lymph nodes and Cancer down his abdomen and finishing at the top of his groin.
Jesse has not been able to work since his diagnosis in July 2024 (and I was only able to work on and off for months prior due to his fatigue and nausea). In the meantime I've become his full time carer, supporting Jess as much as possible whilst being a Mum to our 2 boys.
Unfortunately we lost our successful property maintenance business in which was our main source of income for our family.
We don't have any family support close by. All of Jesse's family is located 14 hours drive away and in the meantime our 2 beautiful boys have struggled emotionally as we have little to no support directed for children of cancer patients in the area, and we cannot afford regular psychologist appointments.
Whilst trying to navigate and adapt to our new lives we have been thrown many obstacles along the way, and that's why we are here just like many others.
~Our electricity has been disconnected 3 times, adding further chargers to our bill.
~Our car broke down on the way to Jesse's chemotherapy treatment in which we had to use all our money we had for a tow truck and the mechanics to fix the problem.
It's a 50 minute drive each way to chemotherapy!
~We received a phone call from a Realestate stating our private rental has now been passed onto them by our owner (without our knowledge and knowing full well our circumstances) the owner has now decided half way through my Husbands treatment she wants to move back into her home.
The realestate has just issued us a 90 days termination under no grounds. We have to leave our home!
(A little over a week after Christmas)
In the middle of us loosing our business and not having employment and money, our stress levels exceeding to points weve never know possible, and now we are also about to loose our home. We feel defeated in circumstances we cannot control.
Another stressful note is our children's birthdays and Christmas fastly approaching! But due to our extremity of circumstances we may not even be able to provide gifts for them, just another heartbreak to add.
For the first time, our family is publicly asking for support
We are kindly asking for any donations as we seek a new home, moving costs, pay off our overdue household expenses and provide some basic necessities for our family.
Any contributions will greatly relieve some of our stress and burdens we have endured this year.
It is with heartfelt gratitude our family says a big thankyou for reading and for any contributions/support made.
With love, thankfulness and appreciation
The Wendt's
Renee, Jesse, Benny & Liam
