Please Help Support Dylan’s Autism Journey

Dylan is my sweet, amazing 18-year-old son who happens to have autism. He is considered nonverbal but can say some words. Because he doesn’t speak, people assume he doesn’t understand things and that he’s not smart. Quite the contrary. He takes everything in. He reads, does math, and so much more. He has amazing patience and is meticulous. Dylan is the LEGO champ lol. Of course, we have many challenges, which is why I’m reaching out for help.

I’m a 58-year-old single mom and I can barely keep the bills paid. He currently attends a high school transition program where he’s learning vocational training. Then, the rest of the day he attends STARability, which has been a Godsend. However, it costs $100/week with financial assistance. They do not accept the Medicaid Waiver. I would love to have funds for Dylan’s events and program fees. The Night to Shine Prom, movies, restaurants, clothing, shoes, and maybe even a mini vacation. He loves Disney, but unfortunately, we can’t afford it. We haven’t even been able to take a long weekend in years. Don’t get me wrong we are truly grateful for all we have! I just want him to experience the joys that other kids do.
