My name is Christina. As many people who know my family and I are aware, my dad Carlos has been on a rough road battling Stage 4 metastatic cancer since 2023. It is with an extremely heavy heart to say that after all of the treatments he has undergone for the past year, they were not effective. The cancer has now spread to multiple areas of the body. With no more treatment options available at this time, he will now be entering hospice.
As anyone would know who has gone through having a family member in hospice, it comes with great expense as well as a physical and mental load for the family to take on. Just like anyone else would want for their own family, we want to give my dad the best care possible at home surrounded by his family. Insurance only covers so much when it comes to at home hospice care. My family and I are working hard around the clock to care for my dad and keep him as comfortable as possible to the best of our abilities.
As I write this, it is still unbelievable what is taking place, but at the end of the day, it is the unfortunate reality that life brings for some. Carlos has a very loving and supportive family behind him. Our faith will not be shaken; we know that God is with us every step of the way.
At this time, I am asking for any support to help give my dad the care he deserves and for relief from his pain that he feels every day. For anyone who has ever gone through a similar experience, you know the sacrifices that are made and the hardships that occur while caring for a loved one during the most difficult time of their lives.
