This fundraiser is organized by Kimberly, Wooper’s niece. All donations go directly to Curtis “Wooper” Langer and his wife, Prudence.

Several months ago, our family received devastating news — my uncle Curtis Langer, who most of you know and love as Wooper, was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver, which has now progressed into end-stage liver disease. About three weeks ago, he was transferred from Sharp Memorial Hospital to UCSD Hillcrest, where he underwent extensive testing to determine if he would qualify for a liver transplant. Due to how critically ill he was, doctors expedited the process, and he was placed on the transplant list at number 5.

Just one week later, the call finally came.

At 2:30 AM on December 3rd, Wooper received the life-changing call that a liver had become available. After months of fear, exhaustion, and unwavering strength, there was finally a light at the end of this long tunnel.

Anyone who knows Curtis “Wooper” knows how deeply deserving he is of this miracle. He is the kind of man who has always shown up for everyone — no questions asked, no hesitation. Now, he is the one who needs support.

His family has surrounded him with constant love and care. All of his children have taken on the work of caring for him in every way possible. Despite having children and a home of his own, Austin spends countless hours helping around the house, taking on the tasks Wooper can no longer do and keeping everything afloat while Curtis has been in and out of the hospital. His daughter Jennifer has done the same, stepping in without hesitation. Ashley and Cora, who live out of state, have flown back and forth, spending countless nights at Wooper’s bedside in the hospital — never leaving him alone during this fight.

We are humbly asking for help to cover the overwhelming costs that come with a liver transplant and recovery, including:
• Anti-rejection medications
• Ongoing aftercare and follow-up treatment
• Medical bills that insurance does not fully cover
• Daily living expenses during recovery

His wife, Prudence, has taken time off work over the past month to care for him around the clock — managing medications, driving him to countless appointments, and never leaving his side. These funds will also help give her the ability to remain with Wooper during his recovery without the added stress of lost income or mounting bills.

If you are able to donate, share, or simply keep Curtis Langer in your prayers, our family would be eternally grateful. Every contribution — no matter the size — truly makes a difference.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, prayers, and support.
