Please Help Support Brett's Battle with Leukemia

Dear Family & Friends,

My name is Christina and I’m sharing the story of two of my closest friends. The funds raised will go directly to his medical expenses and daily living costs. I appreciate your continued love and prayers for them as well!

In 1998, Brett and Nicole’s story began - two best friends turned high school sweethearts, their love blossoming amidst life's twists and turns. Their resilience was tested in 2005 when Brett faced a life-altering accident, rendering him a paraplegic. Undeterred and very much in love, they married in 2007, and Nicole became a dedicated registered nurse that same year.

Despite the challenges, they pushed forward with Brett reclaiming his independence and even becoming a sponsored paracycling athlete for Loma Linda Team PossAbilities.

However, in 2019, their world was shaken again when Brett was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Their unwavering determination saw them through years of extensive chemo treatment, but in early 2022, they received devastating news - Brett’s leukemia was back and a life-saving bone marrow transplant was imperative. He spent many months undergoing treatment in preparation for transplant at multiple speciality transplant centers.

Their resilience is being tested once more with Brett’s most recent leukemia relapse. It has been the most severe yet, with periods of severe pain and inability to engage in everyday activities or communicate with those closest to him. Thankfully he’s regained his ability to talk and laugh and share stories with those he loves but it’s taken its toll on his body.

Today, he faces the daunting reality of no longer being a candidate for a transplant. As he prepares to transition to home health care, Nicole stands by his side as his full-time caregiver, having taken an extended leave from work to tend to his needs.

We appeal to your kindness and generosity to help alleviate the financial burden they face during this challenging time.
