Hello, this is Dee Christner, a dear friend of Becky and Richard Dye. Richard has worked for my husband and I for 14 years. In that time, Becky and Richard have attended camping events, Christmas events, 4th of July events, and any other shenanigans we have pulled off over the years. Becky is always ready to show up on her Harley, dress up as a gangster or whatever crazy thing I've requested. She keeps Richard on his toes and never has a problem speaking up for what is right. She is an amazing human being. So why am I telling you all this? Becky has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer, yes cancer, yes Stage 4. I'll let that sink in for a minute..... if you are like me, your heart just dropped, and tears swelled in your eyes.

I've been permitted to request your help, which was not an easy thing for Becky and Richard to agree to. They are very proud, hard-working individuals who NEVER ask for anything; on the contrary, they always ask, "What can I do for you?". So often people ask, "How can I help?". If you are one of those people, this is your opportunity. It will be hard for them to accept such graciousness. Richard is a Vietnam Veteran, which means he's a bit stubborn when it comes to others doing things for him, but all the more reason to do so. By providing our financial support and prayers, we get the opportunity to show them what community means and how much they are loved and supported.

Becky will be enduring chemo treatments in Iowa City for many weeks. This will mean time off work with lost wages (yes, she is determined to keep working through all of this), fuel expenses, meals, medical deductibles, and Richard having to take time off work, so both household incomes are affected. 100% of the funds raised will help support them during this awful venture they are facing.
