My name is Martine, a mum with complexed learning difficulties. I have 4 children, Elene being the youngest, who is suspected to have autism. 2 of my other children also have complexed learning disabilities, its so hard to have them understand Elenes situation. I'm desperately hoping to raise funds for my 3 year old daughter Elene. On Elene's 3rd birthday she was diagnosed with high risk neuroblastoma which has spread to her bone, an aggressive childhood cancer with a 50-60% chance of survival. Instead of getting excited for her 1st day at nursery, her uniform and bag all ready, Elene was in her pyjamas, facing her 1st chemotherapy. Elene is a usually a lively, giggly, cheeky little girl. Although my daughter is a little fighter, I lie beside a withdrawn, quiet subdued little girl who is confused and really doesn't understand why all these people keep prodding and poking her, she cant see their trying so hard to make her better. Im fundraising in hopes I can give my little girl something to bring that smile back and give her something to look forward to in-between her chemotherapy treatments. Elene is a massive animal lover, her main love being dogs and horses. We have been offered access to a pony for her a pony she can learn to fully look after and ride, a bonus being this pony is the same colour as popcorn a horse she follows on YouTube, but we need safety equipment such as hat and padding as her little body is vulnerable. The treatment and cancer is taking her mobility, causing servere constipation and so the movement would help her little body keep up in a way Elene would adore and look forward to, already she wants to see constant pictures of her pony. She loves the park but cant go near, as she is immunocompromised and so having swings, slides, amenities in her garden would not only give her a massive play area but would also help her with physiotherapy and keeping muscle wastage to a minimum, we have been warned she may need to learn to walk again rather than grueling physiotherapy she doesn't understand, she would be able to do this through the equipment shes always excited to use. My daughter just wants to see the animals in the zoo, visit sealife centers, go to petting farms. Please help me to make these little dreams that are massive to her come true
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read Elenes story. Ive never asked for anything before for me or my children and if I'm honest I don't feel comfortable asking now, but sometimes we all need a little help ❤️
