Help our "SuperMan" Aran Minogue Battle Cancer

From the Family, Friends and Students of Aran Minogue;
We are in need of help for our dear friend Aran Minogue, esteemed teacher and colleague, loving husband to his wife, Stacey, and devoted father of three to Caitlyn (age 13), Jack (age 11) and Connor (14 months old).
Aran has been diagnosed with a rare cancer called Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. This sneaky cancer rarely shows symptoms until it has metastasized throughout the body. In Aran’s case, he only started having pain in his abdomen just after Christmas. An MRI, CT scan, and a colonoscopy revealed a tumor in his large intestine which had already spread to multiple spots on his liver and a few enlarged lymph nodes. With barely any symptoms, this disease is already at stage 4, grade 3, very aggressive and there is currently no cure.
Doctors have ruled out surgery for this stage of cancer, radiation therapy is ineffective due to the location and severity of the cancer, and due to a kidney transplant in his early twenties, chemotherapy is considered high risk and not recommended because it would probably damage his already low functioning kidney. In addition, chemotherapy suppresses the immune system and because Aran is already on anti-rejection medication for his kidney, a basic infection could end up being fatal. Nonetheless, Aran and his family have not given up hope and continue to seek alternative opinions and treatment from many health professionals.
We are seeking donations to ease the financial burden on the family during this difficult time while they seek opinions and alternative treatments at other hospitals. Aran is a beloved teacher at Kortright Hills Public School, where he has taught 100's of 12, and 13-year-old students over the years. Students and colleagues, past and present, are planning events to support this Go Fund Me, an indication of the esteem that is held for Aran in our community. His dedication, to family and students, his sense of humour, his quiet dignity, and his work in our schools has engendered our community's firm determination to ease the Minogue's burden and to do what we can for the future.
