Hello - My name is Rob Bober, and I am running this GoFundMe project for my friend (Steven Gonzalez) who has been homeless for several months now and is living on a day-to-day basis. The money for this project is being used for Steve's for Steve's basic living needs (primarily food and shelter). Originally, I started this fundraiser to help Steve get his car out of repossession; however, his basic needs are now at a critical point.

I met Steve through my church 4 years ago and have become good friends. We call each other Hermano ("Brother" in Spanish). Steve has encountered many challenges over the past 15 years. His primary occupation has been in landscaping and landscape administration. He owned and operated his business for several years until Covid and health issues struck (keeping him out of the workforce for an extended period). In late 2023, Steve was hospitalized for several weeks due to pneumonia and RSV. Since that point in time, he has been on oxygen. Over the recent past, Steve also had major heart surgery, has survived heart failure, and is on several medications. He is a fighter and an overcomer.

Steve's current situation is not due to lack of effort on his part. He has applied for numerous positions and is also applying for disability services. With Steve's health conditions, his job opportunities for are very limited and (if approved) disability services are not realistic for many months. The fact that he is homeless is also impacting his opportunities/funding. In fact, he recently lost some valuable funding due to no longer having a fixed physical address. I am very concerned for his health and physical safety.

Steve is a kind and generous person. In fact, a few years ago, Steve demonstrated his hospitality and generosity by cooking a Cinco de Mayo meal for me. He is a good father to his son and is a fellow brother in Christ as well.

Please help support this effort for mi Hermano, Steve. Please help him in this season of homelessness and financial/medical challenges. Whether that be a donation (any donation is extremely appreciated) or by forwarding this GoFundMe story along to others. I am grateful for your support.
