Hi, my name is Stefanie and I am raising money for my dad, Steven and his girlfriend, Denise. In August of this year the doctors found a mass on my dad’s right lung. They did a biopsy, and our worst fears came true.. cancer. He was diagnosed with Stage 2B non small cell lung adenocarcinoma, or lung cancer. The tumor is the size of an apple, and takes up his whole right lower lobe. Luckily we caught it in time to have surgery. On October 28th Dad will have surgery down in Tampa to remove the tumor. It is considered major surgery and he will be hospitalized for 3-5 days. Following the surgery will be some chemotherapy also. The next couple months are going to be very emotional for my family. Cancer already took my mom, it won’t take my dad!

I am starting this fundraiser to help my dad and Denise with medical and housing expenses. The medical bills are starting to pile up, as well as the monthly bills. Denise has had to take time off to bring dad to doctor’s appointments, and care for him. She will be taking the month of November off to stay home and take care of him after surgery. Since they aren’t married, this will be NON paid time off. Dad’s surgery is down in Tampa, which is an hour and a half drive for us. During the surgery Denise also has to get a hotel room to stay down in Tampa with dad. The expenses are more than they can afford, and they need help.
