Please Help Stan Come Home

Three years ago, Stan and Sue Cieslak retired to their dream home in Canadian Lakes, MI. They were enjoying their retirement by the lake and Stan was golfing as much as possible and enjoying the lake life. Only three years into their retirement, Stan was diagnosed with kidney cancer in March of 2021. At first the prognosis seemed manageable, but then a secondary tumor was found in his spine and it was determined that it was in danger of collapsing his spine. Before the spinal mass could be removed, a pre-surgical procedure was performed to block the blood vessels to the tumor. It was during this procedure that Stan was left paralyzed from the waist down. He is no longer able to walk. He is currently in rehabilitation in Grand Rapids, MI and is anxious to return home in Canadian Lakes. However, before he can there are modifications to the home and equipment needed to allow Stan to return home. He will need ramps, an accessible shower, a wheelchair accessible van and other items to maintain some semblance of independence.

 

With permission from the Cieslaks, I have set up this fundraiser so that friends and family can come together and help. If you could find it in your heart to donate any amount to help them out it would mean the world to them and our family. We want Stan to be able to stay and live in his home. Stan also has a long road ahead of him as he is beginning radiation and immunotherapy treatment to fight the cancer that has caused immeasurable pain to all of us.
