Please Help Stacie

This page was set up to provide financial support for a wonderful mom, sister and friend, Stacie Romportl. On September 13th, she was helping her mother-in-law by burning trash. Unfortunately, she grabbed the wrong container of accelerant and used a gas/oil mixture. When she applied the liquid to the pile, the fire followed the stream back to the jug. When this happened, she instinctively dropped it, causing it to burst open, and the contents splattered all over her, saturating her and her clothes. She was rushed to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN, where it was discovered that 30% of her body was burned. She is currently undergoing treatment and receiving IV treatments, as well as being assisted by a feeding tube. As of now, she is expected to need to stay in the hospital for 6 to 8 weeks. There will be observation by medical staff, further treatment and skin grafts in her future. Her devoted husband, Scott, has been at her side this entire time. To stay close, he has been staying at a nearby hotel- but at $200 per night, that isn't sustainable. He has been going to work, making the 180-mile roundtrip daily to be with her, and staying in St.Paul on weekends. Words can't express what a selfless, sweet, and kind woman she is. She has been there for all of us at one time or another without asking for anything in return. Please find it in your heart to give whatever you can to help alleviate some of the stress, but if that isn't possible, PLEASE share this post with everyone you know. All funds raised will be paid directly to Stacie and Scott.
