PLEASE HELP SKY MERSHON HEAL AND REUNITE WITH HER BABY GIRL!

On February 13, 2025, Skyler Mershon’s life changed in the most beautiful way—she welcomed her precious daughter, Aaliyah Danielle, into the world after three long, exhausting days of labor. She and her husband were overjoyed, ready to embrace their new journey as parents. But what should have been a time of bonding and love quickly turned into an unimaginable fight for Skyler’s life.
A Timeline of Skyler’s Fight for Recovery:
• 2/13: Skyler gives birth to Aaliyah after three days of active labor.
• 2/15: Released from the hospital but begins experiencing severe headaches and nausea.
• 2/21: After days of pain and vomiting, she is admitted to the ER in Athens, TX.
• 2/22: Skyler undergoes gallbladder removal surgery, hoping for relief. Instead, her condition worsens—she is placed on a magnesium drip and goes into AFIB (irregular heartbeat).
• 2/25: Admitted to the ICU with fluid on her lungs.
• 2/26: Moved out of ICU, but still in severe pain, with four pockets of fluid around her liver and abdomen.
• 3/1: Released to recover at home.
• 3/7: Rushed back to the ER in Tyler, TX—her condition has deteriorated. Skyler is septic, with four abscesses(one near her liver, spleen, and two in her abdomen). Doctors place drainsand start aggressive antibiotic treatments.
• 3/12: Surgery to remove the drains.
• 3/13: Still nauseous, unable to keep food down, experiencing spiking fevers.
• 3/14: Finally able to hold Aaliyah for a brief moment, but doctors find more concerns—they may need to place another drain and investigate swollen lymph nodes.
• 3/16: Surgery to place three drain tubes. Infectious disease doctors flush the lines to prevent clogging.
• 3/21: A PICC line is placed to administer long-term antibiotics.
• 3/22: Doctors begin investigating kidney complications—her kidneys appear abnormal. She is also diagnosed with C. diff, a bacterial infection from prolonged antibiotic use.
• 3/25: Skyler is diagnosed with acute kidney failure, believed to be caused by the infection from the abscesses.
Through all of this, Skyler has remained unbelievably strong. But the hardest part? She is still unable to be home with her baby. Instead of late-night feedings and baby snuggles, she is enduring pain, surgeries, and endless hospital stays—only seeing Aaliyah through pictures and FaceTime.
How You Can Help:
Skyler’s mother, Sarah, has been fighting tirelessly to get short-term disabilityapproved, but they have been denied twice, claiming her complications are pre-existing due to pregnancy-related preeclampsia. Without financial support, Skyler’s bills—both medical and personal—are piling up.
Your donations will go directly toward:
Covering Skyler’s medical bills
Helping with her monthly expenses while she is unable to work
Supporting her transition to a rehab facility for continued recovery
Skyler just wants to get home to her daughter—to hold her, love her, and finally begin her journey as a mother. Let’s come together and help ease the financial burden so she can focus on healing.
If you’re unable to donate, please share this post and keep Skyler in your prayers. Every donation, share, and prayer brings her one step closer to reuniting with Aaliyahand regaining her health.
Thank you for your love and support!
