Please Help Skender and his family!!!

Dear Friends and Family,

I am reaching out to you today on behalf of a truly exceptional man, Skender Xhilaj. Skender is a beacon of love, laughter, and hard work in his family's lives. He has dedicated himself to being a loving husband to Rudina and an incredible father to his six children: Jenus, Kujtim, Sulltana, Aferdita, Hidajete, and Alma.

Tragically, Skender has faced unimaginable loss, as both of his sons passed away at a young age. His eldest, Jenus, left them at 29, and just this past February, they lost Kujtim in a heartbreaking car accident at 37. Despite this immense pain, Skender recently received the joyful news of becoming a grandfather for the first time. His late son's wife, Alketa, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Liyana, a ray of hope and happiness in their lives.

On July 14th, 2023, Skender suffered a massive stroke caused by a blocked carotid artery. His resilience has been nothing short of extraordinary, enduring over four weeks in the ICU and battling through subsequent complications. He fought off pneumonia many times, MRSA, and sepsis, displaying a spirit that leaves us all in awe.

Currently, Skender remains in the ICU, facing fluid build-up around his lungs and heart, resulting in acute kidney failure. He's reliant on a tracheostomy and ventilator, demonstrating the depth of his determination. His wife and his daughters are there everyday and night and have been there for the past 12 weeks.

This journey has been heart-wrenching for Skender and their entire family. I am reaching out to our community, asking for your support in this difficult time being that he was the breadwiner of this family and no one knows how long this will last... Any amount that you donate will contribute to Skender's ongoing medical expenses and help provide the care he needs to embark on the road to recovery.
