Hello,
My name is Roger, the caregiver of my dear wife and brain cancer patient, Sharon. We asking for your help for a former school nurse with a heart of gold, and the mother of our two college age son and daughter. She was diagnosed with Glioblastoma grade IV in 2024 and has been in the fight for her life.
She is a true testament to the power of human resilience. Sharon continues to receive treatment at Levine Cancer Center in Charlotte and Duke Hospital in Durham. We must commute hundreds of miles monthly for her care. Her illness has reshaped her way of moving and being. My wife now has difficulty walking and is experiencing poor vision in both eyes. Physical and speech therapies are a part of her regular weekly routine. Because the condition has affected her cognitive ability, she has bouts of depression, anger and frustration, and losses appetite. It breaks our children's and my heart to know there is no cure to fully restore her, but we are encouraged by her strength.
Sharon has a living miracle. The average survival rate is eighteen months to live. She has defied the odds approximately two years later. We know its her will, our will for her to be restored.
We are asking all who are able to give whatever amount possible to cover transportation costs, living expenses (given that I am on family medical leave to tend to her), for us to access better therapeutics, treatment options, and medication, to pay for her upcoming treatments , and to drive faster knowledge and facilitate with the researchers as to what caused the glioblastoma. No donation and gesture is too small. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting our family,
With love,
Sharon, Roger, Trent , and Raeghan
