Please Help Shannon Beat Cancer

Our family recently received the devastating news that my beautiful wife Shannon, loving mother of our two wonderful children, and the absolute love of my life has been diagnosed with an extremely aggressive form of breast cancer. We have been together since high school, now over two decades, and have had to wade through our fair share of struggles. This is by far the biggest challenge we have ever had to face.
At only 38 years old this news is nothing short of SHOCKING ... it will stop you dead in your tracks. Shannon had just recovered from some long standing health issues and a major ligament surgery from injuries she sustained during her pregnancies. She was looking forward to new career opportunities and a fresh start after leaving her job to take care of our then 18 month old son and help transition our daughter into elementary school). Now she is at never ending doctor’s appointments with specialists and surgeons, and stays up all hours researching and reading about cancer. She drives to NH from RI once a week and may have to travel further in order to explore additional treatment options.
We’ve learned that not only is it an aggressive cancer, but she also has the BRCA2 gene mutation which means that Shannon has what they call “cancer syndrome” and may have to undergo multiple surgical procedures along with the rigorous drug and nutrition regimens associated with treating the disease. The options for BRCA2 patients are very limited and extreme.
Unfortunately, any form of long term cancer treatments are accompanied by the shockingly high cost of medical expenses. Insurance does not cover all of it and there is other supportive care involved that it does not cover at all.
I can’t imagine what mine or my kids’ lives would be like without their mom and my very best friend. We would be eternally grateful for everyone's help to save Shannon’s life. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers and thank you for taking the time to read our story.
