Hey there! I’m Sheleen, I’m asking for some assistance for my best friend Jessica. She’s the first person to be there when you need her, but last person to ask for help! So I started this page for her! Jessica had undiagnosed scoliosis until the age of 18. It has caused her severe back pain, hip pain, sciatica, and leg numbness over the years. Despite living a very active lifestyle, working out, and staying over all healthy the pain levels have gotten much worse over the past couple of years and nothing seems to help including physical therapy. This has impacted her physical activity, work, and overall mental health. After during lots of research she has decided to go with surgery to stop the progression of her scoliosis and help alevaite some of the pain. She currently has thoracic curve of 52 degrees, lumbar 33 degrees, ribcage rotation, uneven hips, and a protruding scapula.  Surgery will be over 5 hrs long and include the placement of screws, metal rods, and a bone graft from T4-L2.  After surgery she will need to be in the hospital for a few days to be monitored. This is major surgery and she will need to be out of work for about 6 weeks. As a self employed hairstylist she will not have any paid time off. I have started this go fund me in order to help cover some of her medical bills and living expenses after her surgery.
