#girlsracetoo. Seren's pursuit to be a female race driver

Hi everyone,

My name is Seren, and I am a 14-year-old girl with a dream to make it in the world of motorsport.

I was born in Melbourne, race in Australia, but have strong family ties to Zimbabwe, South Africa, England and Wales.

My motorsport passion is Rally, but I am inspired by all girls who are now competing at the highest level across all disciplines, including the F1 Academy. The opportunities for girls to drive beyond karting has never been this good, but karting is the pathway to it all, and that is where I am at for the next couple of years.

Karting is a sport whereby there are only a handful of girls that compete side by side against the boys, but with the helmet on we are all equal. This is a unique sport whereby gender does not count out on the track. It’s rough and tough.

Races often have over 30 karts on track and reaching speeds of up to 115kph, bumper to bumper, and literally centimeters off the bitumen. We experience up to 3 G- Forces, and crashes can be quite extreme. It is a dangerous sport, to say the least.

Karting performance often depends on the quality of equipment, and for an average single parent income family like ours, it’s extremely challenging to keep up with the costs, but even more so to make me, the kart and engine, competitive at a national level.

Despite these challenges, I have achieved these milestones in my first 18 months of racing.

• 7th place in the 2023 Oakleigh Championships (Oscar Piastri’s home track) in my first year, competing against 51 juniors.
• Castrol Junior Sprint Ladies Champion in 2023.
• Podium finish at The Parolin Junior Sprint Classic in the Junior Light Novice category in 2024.
• Top 3 and Top 5 Heat Results.

To continue my journey and compete at higher levels, I need to upgrade my equipment. This includes a newer kart and an additional engine, race suit, and continued coaching, as well competing in State and Open race meets.

Your support would ease the stress and help cover the costs of travel, coaching, tyres, and spares, allowing me to improve and be more competitive with National drivers. Your support will help me focus and pursue my passion, and with that maybe inspire other girls to give it a go against the odds.

We are currently preparing for some significant race meets that include the 2025 Kingston Cup in May and two rounds of the Golden Power Series in July and August. This will be followed by the 2025 Junior Sprint Classic and Victorian State Titles.

Each of these race meets will cost upwards of $2,000 and therefore we are trying to raise $10,000, which will likely be a third of the total costs for 2025.

If you would like to help a young girl driver, take it to the boys, and follow her dreams, then please any donation would be amazing, and I would be so grateful.

Follow your support on my IG page @shh_racing or come down and watch. If you would like to be more involved and sponsor, we would love to discuss how we could create value through a brand partnership.
