চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের যোগাযোগ ও সাংবাদিকতা বিভাগের ২২ তম ব্যাচের সংগ্রামী ছেলে ছোট ভাই সুমনের শরীরে বাসা বেঁধেছে অনাকাঙ্ক্ষিত এক রোগ। ২ মাস আগেও চবির কনভোকেশনে গ্রাউন-ক্যাপ পরে জীবনের রঙিন স্বপ্ন দেখা, সেই সুমন কিডনী জটিলতায় ভুগছে। ডাক্তার বলছে একটি কিডনী স্বভাবিকের চেয়ে অনেক বেশি ছোট হয়ে গেছে। আরেকটি কিডনীও যে পরিমাণ সাপোর্ট দেওয়ার কথা সে হারে রেসপন্স করছে না। দৈনিক ১ লিটারের বেশি পানি পান করায় নিষেধাজ্ঞা দিয়েছে। খাবারও নিচ্ছে সীমিত পরিমাণে। গত ১ মাসে ওজন কমেছে প্রায় ২০ কেজি। এখন হঠাৎ দেখে চেনার উপায় নাই যে এটাই সেই ২ মাস আগের সুমন! ডাক্তার এর মতে কিডনীর বায়োপসি করানো লাইফ-রিস্ক হয়ে যাবে এবং যত দ্রুত সম্ভব উন্নত চিকিৎসার জন্য দেশের বাইরে নেয়া প্রয়োজন। এই বিপুল চিকিৎসা ব্যয় মেটানো তার পরিবারের পক্ষে সম্ভব নয়।
