Sugar Cube, three year old mix Pit breed, is loved by many friends, but she is the absolute love of Tammy and Destiny’s lives. Adopted at just seven months old and named for her innate sweetness, Sugar instantly became a vital member of the family. Tammy (who has significant Cerebral Palsy and gets around with a motorized wheelchair) spent hours upon hours training her loving pup and sidekick to become both service and loyal companion and they have been attached since day one. I have never seen such an amaze team, woven together by true adoration and trust on both sides. Then add Tammy’s teenage daughter Destiny into the partnership and it’s a strong family unit of no bounds. Destiny has Dravet Syndrome and weakened motor tone, and Sugar Cube acts as a mobility support animal as needed. They are a linked trio of indomitable spirit!
it has been two nights since I had to take Sugar Cube to the vet ER because she was in pain, crying beside Tammy. She was hospitalized on IV fluids and pain management for a bloated belly. She was expected to come home last evening however her progress was very slow and the vet recommended one more night. Tammy is a mess, too sad to get out of bed all day yesterday. This morning I received a call from the veterinarian informing us that Sugar has began vomiting this morning and an ultrasound is necessary to check for an intestinal blockage.
I have worked for Tammy and Destiny going on eight years, am I, too, am in love with this dog. Tammy doesn’t have the financial means for vet hospitalization so I have gladly spent my entire government stipend to cover her vet costs thus far. I’m out of money now. I’m starting this GoFundMe to help save this beloved family member and get this trio back together.
if Tammy, Destiny and/or Sugar have ever made an impression on your life, please help me help this family be reunited. Any amount is a gigantic help.
