Hi everyone,
My name is Colleen Goslett,
I never thought I would be writing something like this, but I’m reaching out because my beautiful French Bulldog, Rugrat, needs help.
Rugrat turns 3 at the end of April. She has just been diagnosed with Megaoesophagus, a serious condition that affects her ability to swallow and keep food down. To properly assess her condition, she urgently needs a CT scan costing $3,000. I do have pet insurance, but even with coverage I am required to pay $600 out of pocket just for the CT scan, and there will be additional out-of-pocket costs for surgery and ongoing treatment.
Depending on the results, she will require surgery estimated at $6,000, and there is also a possibility she may need hernia surgery. On top of this, Rugrat is suffering with both of her back knees. Each knee requires surgery — $4,000 for one or $7,000 for both — though it’s likely they won’t operate on both at the same time.
I am starting this fundraiser now because the initial costs are immediate and overwhelming. Next week I will also be speaking with my vet about having payments or donations made directly to the clinic so everyone can feel confident that every dollar is going toward Rugrat’s medical care.
Rugrat is not just a dog — she is family. She is my companion, my comfort, and such a loving, gentle soul. Seeing her go through this at such a young age has been heartbreaking.
If you are able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean the world to us. If you can’t donate, simply sharing this page would help more than you know.
Thank you for taking the time to read Rugrat’s story and for any support you can give.
With gratitude,
Colleen
