My name is Cristina and I am fundraising for Peluso, my parents’ cat in Colombia. He has been fighting for his life since he was a kitten. Born with a viral illness, he has only survived thanks to love, special food, and continuous care.

Just a few months ago, Peluso had to undergo major surgery for a stomach tumor. The vets managed to save only one quarter of his liver. Since then, he has been living on treatment, vitamins, and a special diet fighting every single day to survive.

And now, a new tragedy. After what we think was a fall or a fight, Peluso suffered a detachment of the iris in his right eye. His eye is damaged, he is in pain, and without urgent surgery he may not survive. The cost of the operation is estimated £1,000 which is why I am asking for your help. Right now he is on medication, but the surgery is his only real chance.

What makes this even harder is that only a few weeks ago, We also recently lost Peluso’s brother, Lucas, to the same cruel viral illness. Lucas had lived with us for a few years surrounded by love and care. He had been rescued from the street after suffering terrible abuse. He lost one of his eyes because of a kick from a person without heart. Despite all he went through, he finally knew what it was to be safe and loved until the end. Our family is heartbroken . We cannot imagine losing Peluso too.
