I am a single mom trying to raise money to obtain a lawyer and pay my legal fees. I am in a civil matter that has caused a lot of stress on the children and I the past couple of years. My sister is trying to take away my home that we are in a joint partnership 50/50 split.  In 2011, We joined this partnership because I didn't think I could obtain a mortgage on my own. I was so proud and  happy to finally own my home and provide an investment for my children. My sister, my dad and I each contributed to the down payment to purchase my home. I have paid the mortgage, property tax and the upkeep of the property for the last 8 years. In 2012, we had a written agreement that we both signed validating our agreement in the purchase of our home. She is my older sister who I trusted and she reassured me that we did not need to get it notarized which I wanted.  I have multiple text messages and audio were she confirms the home is mine and hers & a 50/50 split.

In 2018, she began to deny our agreement and started stating I was a renter because only her name was on the mortgage.  My sister is being spiteful and trying to sell the property due to greed. She is trying to make us homeless in the middle of Covid-19 and  deny my partnership & my down payment.

Since 2018, she has paired up with another sister that dislikes me and my children due to their race.  We have been harassed, bullied, intimidated, they have mislead the police on numerous occasions and have tried to drill out the locks and break into my home. We live in fear of leaving our home because they keep showing up at our house unannounced at all hours of the night. She has had random men come to the door and call my phone to try to scare us. I have had to install cameras for our safety. They have made false allegations on the children and myself. They have my son & daughter scared that they are going to be  taken away and become homeless.

We have been in a legal battle that has dwindled the small reserve I have plus I have incurred $40,000 worth of legal fees all to prove I have a joint partnership in my home. I can no longer keep up on legal fees while also supporting my children and myself with the everyday basic needs. They are trying to use the courts and manipulate the situation to have my children and I homeless. 

 I have been battling my own health issues that have gotten worse due to all the stress and trauma they are causing. My 8 year old son is now suffering from anxiety  and afraid to be away from me due to all the fear caused by my sister. They would yell numerous racist comments, say they will be taken away from me (his mother)because all black people get locked up  and call my children criminal babies because they are biracial. They have installed so much fear in my children with all the bullying and harassment. When my daughter started to attend a school for the deaf she was fearful that they would further their harassment at her new school. 

My sister taking away our home would cause extreme hardship on the children and I. We would become homeless and I will lose everything that I have invested for my children.  The stress and anxiety that this is causing me and my children is absolutely terrible and I just want this to be over. I have been representing myself since I can no longer afford my lawyer but I really need a lawyer to help me get what is rightfully mine.

 Creating this Go fund me account is my last chance to save our home that my sister is trying to take away and leave me homeless & with nothing.
