Help Us Fight for More Time with Our Dad
Hi, we're Montana, Lachlan, Darcy and Archer.
To the world, our dad is Aaron. To us, he's our safe place. He's the one who taught us to ride our bikes, made us laugh when we were scared, cheered us on from the sidelines, and never stopped putting us first.
Brain cancer has been part of our lives since 2009. After five battles, countless surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy and a clinical trial that failed, our doctors have told us Dad likely has weeks to months before the tumour begins taking away the things that make him *him*. They've also told us they'd be surprised if he's still with us in 12 months.
We're not ready to lose our dad.
He can no longer work, and Mum left her job so we could spend whatever time we have left together making memories instead of waiting for "one day."
There is one more treatment that gives us hope—CAR-T cell therapy. Because Dad doesn't qualify for the funded trial, we have to pay for it ourselves.
We're not asking for miracles.
We're asking for the chance to have more birthdays, more hugs, more family dinners and more memories with the man we love most.
If you can help, thank you. If you can't, sharing our story means everything to us.
With love,
Montana, Lachlan, Darcy & Archer ❤️

How will the funds be used?
CAR-T cell therapy is currently our last remaining treatment option. Because Aaron has a Grade 3 IDH-mutant astrocytoma, he doesn't qualify for the funded clinical trial available in Australia.
After months of researching every possible option, we've secured an appointment in China on 18th August to have Aaron assessed for CAR-T therapy and any other treatments that may be available. We are paying for this entirely out of pocket, but treatment in China is expected to cost around half the price of pursuing the same pathway in Australia, giving us a much greater chance of making it financially possible.
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we've already raised enough to cover our flights, accommodation and Aaron's initial consultation. We can't thank you enough for helping us take this next step.
If Aaron is accepted for treatment, we expect expenses to include:
CAR-T cell therapy and manufacturing: approximately
$180,000–$250,000(China) vs $350,000–$500,000 (Australia)
Hospital admission, specialist care, chemotherapy, scans and monitoring: approximately $40,000–$100,000 (China) vs $100,000–$200,000 (Australia)
Travel, accommodation and living expenses while receiving treatment overseas.
Follow-up care, rehabilitation and ongoing medical costs once we return home.
Lost income and family support costs while Aaron is unable to work and our family remains focused on his treatment.
Our fundraising goal reflects the potential cost of giving Aaron every possible chance to access life-extending treatment and the medical care that comes with it.
If CAR-T isn't suitable, or another treatment is recommended instead, every dollar raised will continue to support Aaron's ongoing medical care, treatment, travel, rehabilitation and keeping our family together while we continue this fight.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for giving us hope, standing beside our family, and helping us fight for more time together.
With love,
Peta
