Hi, I’m Patricia and my Oliver, my perfect 11-year-old boy went to the vets almost 3 weeks ago for not eating and not using the litterbox. Little did I know this would be the start to a long few weeks at our family vet, emergency vets, and hospitalization. On x-ray a mass was found, but the location was either the spleen or a lymph node. We were referred to Mississauga (MOVAH) where an Oncologist ordered a biopsy, no cancer cells were found, but Oliver was very anemic and still had a high fever for weeks. No cause know after a couple weeks, so we ran more blood panels and Internal Medicine was asked to review his chart to which they took over Oliver’s case. Diagnosed with non-regenerative anemia, and he has to start a long road of steroids. BUT treatments cannot start, because in the time of all of this, he developed a bad eye ulcer which is now holding up treatment, and the reality is, we need an ophthalmologist, or he could lose his eye. We also need to monitor his anemia while we wait for his eye to heal.
Just to treat him, while finding out a diagnosis cost an insane amount of money and now with all the follow ups, ophthalmology, travel, new food, I utilized all the options available to me, but I still need to pay off the balance, and find the funds to carry on our journey, we are so close to having a handle on this to help Oliver, but with the eye issue and with needed funds, it seems so far away.
Please help me save my little boy.
A little about my perfect love Oliver, he was found at 6 weeks old, very injured but with help of the vets and advice from shelters, I was able to provide him with the care needed and he had a chance at life, albeit a tough road. Nerve damage with right side neurological deficits, but he never gave up then and isn't giving up now. He gets excited for water, like the other do for treats, its so cute! He is the most innocent, appreciative love and I cannot give up on him, not after coming this far. Please help us if you can.
