Hi, my name is Laura and I am fundraising for my dear cat Norman who’s in the hospital.
He almost died last Friday.
He was lethargic, his eyes had lost their wide eyed vibrancy (usually a beautiful green), held his head above his water as if wanted to drink but couldn't, seemed to lose weight suddenly especially in his hips, his fur had lost it’s healthy look and more. He had a seizure.
His doctor said his bloodwork shows lymphoma or an infection or both, kidney and liver issues and that he needed hospitalization.
I gave him subcutaneous fluids, etc while figuring things out. He was drinking/eating, became more active, etc again but then declined again even more quickly and I rushed him to the hospital.
He needs more testing including an ultrasound, to get more definitive answers and I pray a treatment plan. Apparently even lymphoma in cats is manageable.
I have a chronic illness and am on a limited budget. It’s just Norm and me.
Ever since I adopted him he has been wonderful with his pats to get my attention, meow/chirp answers, paws on my shoulders as I hold him, the calming sweet energy he brings to so many others (especially those who are vulnerable in any way, disabled, ill), and more.
Whenever I’m sick and/or in pain he’s right there lying against or on exactly where the discomfort is, as if healing me.
So I want to return the favour to him.
My sweet Norman.
I’m hoping you can help.
Sincerely,
Laura and Norman
