Kelsey has been battling Anorexia for 2 and a half years now and is physically and mentally deteriorating further each day.
Kelsey was once a very happy and bubbly teenager with the best laugh I have ever heard. We have not heard that laugh in over 2 years as she is now suffering with depression and has extreme mood swings to the point where she is violent towards herself. We have tried seeking help through the public health system with no success as it is not the adequate treatment that Kelsey needs to recover. Kelsey was told by a psychologist from the NSW mental health system that she was “happy to stop her appointments because she didn’t look like she was underweight.”
I feel that our only hope to save Kelsey is to send her to a private inpatient eating disorder clinic away from home, however the cost of treatment is not covered by insurance and therefore the expenses must be out of pocket. As much as we would like to pay for this ourselves, the time that it would take for us to save this much, Kelsey would no longer be alive. Kelsey is only 20 years old and I do not want to see my little sister die this young, which is the reality we are facing if Kelsey does not receive the treatment she desperately needs.
Any contribution towards her care would be very much appreciated.
