This is an urgent request to save my family home I inherited from my Uncle Melvin. I owe $11,656.55 in property taxes.

PRESENT SITUATION AND NEEDS:

I am Doug. I owe $11,656.55 by April 10, 2023. We have never been late on taxes.

The property tax increased more than 5 times from the previous year.

My Uncle had the house built in the 60's

So the property tax was only $1516.50

I gratefully inherited the home from my Uncle Melvin, and  don't want to lose it.

I have been my parents and Uncle's caregiver over the last 10 years, as all 3 of them had Alzheimer's Dementia, and heart conditions.

We haven't had electricity since June of 2022 to present. The power was shut off by PGE for unsafe wiring.

The quote from Aleco electric repair company is $33,426.00

plus the PGE charges for their work ~$3000

and plus the County permit ~$1000

The outside plumbing is all broken

We have a vermin infestation

The walls are cracked inside and out.

The old asbestos insulation was abated, 15 years ago, and since then, there has been no insulation at all.

The carpeting is very old and destroyed.

11 trees ~60' tall need to be trimmed.

The trimming cost $6000

5 years ago.

PRESENT INCOME:

My only income is from social security ~$700/month which started March 2022.

I get $281/month for food assistance with EBT card from the state of CA started ~January 2023

I get this assistance because my income is less than $9000/year, because I haven't had my business or a job for the past 10 years, as I have been taking care of my Mother, Father, and Uncle all having Alzheimer's Dementia, requiring 24/7/365 care. My Mother passed 1st, then my Father, and then a couple of months after my Uncle passed, my girlfriend's family needed help with daily IV antibiotics and other medical needs and caregiving for 6 months. Now I am starting to focus on my present situations.

PLANS FOR FUTURE INCOME:

I am raising 3 goats, 2 kids, and 8 ducks.

I will start selling the duck eggs and the goats. I inherited my Uncle's house with 1.4 acres and plan to start farming lavender. I am also slowly preparing to restart my medical equipment business to provide income to sustain this family home.

I am still working on my story of how I got to this situation unprepared, for now, mostly the 10 years of taking care of my family didn't allow time to generate any income. I will add to this page ASAP. I am anticipating it to be added in 1 or 2 days. I just needed to get this started immediately as you can see the urgency of the property taxes due date is April 10 2023.
