Hi, my name is John Mark Abadier, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my father, Arnel Macalos Abadier.

On April 14, my father was rushed to the hospital after experiencing severe difficulty breathing. We initially thought it was due to his Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), but we later learned that he had suffered a sudden heart attack.

According to his medical records, he was diagnosed with Acute Coronary Syndrome, along with Hyponatremia secondary to poor oral intake, and his existing COPD. His condition quickly became critical, and he had to undergo an emergency coronary angiogram and angioplasty to restore blood flow to his heart. Thankfully, these procedures helped save his life.

While we are incredibly grateful that he survived, our family is now facing overwhelming medical expenses. The cost of the procedures alone has reached approximately ₱579,000 (around CAD $14,000), not including hospital stay and medications.

I am currently in Canada as a newcomer, trying to build a better future for my family. I am the only one working full-time, while my partner works part-time and takes care of our 6-year-old child. We are doing our best to manage our daily needs, but this sudden emergency has placed a heavy financial burden on us that we are not prepared for.

My father is the only parent I have left. I lost my mother in 2016 due to heart problems, and that is why this situation is even more painful for us. As a family, we are willing to do everything we can just to extend his life and give him more time with us.

It is not easy for me to ask for help. I never wanted to burden anyone with our problems, but I have found the courage to reach out because I cannot do this alone, no matter how much I want to.
