Hi, my name is Josefa, and I am writing this through tears, with my heart completely shattered.

Today, my world turned upside down. My baby, Mimi, is a 9-month-old Sun Conure who has been the light of my life — she sings, dances, cuddles, and fills my days with love and laughter. But in just one terrible moment, everything changed.

This afternoon, Mimi was flying happily around the house like she always does. But suddenly, she flew too low — and my two dogs, including Fria (a Chihuahua I rescued from an abusive home), attacked her. Fria bit Mimi’s left wing, and there was blood everywhere.

Since that heartbreaking moment today, Mimi has not been herself. She’s trembling, quiet, barely moving, and the pain in her tiny body is unbearable to watch. It’s tearing me apart to see her like this — my joyful, playful little girl is now suffering and fading before my eyes.

I have no money to get her to the vet. I’ve separated her from the dogs, she’s in my room 24/7, and I’m doing everything I can — but I know it’s not enough. She needs medical help now, or I’m terrified she won’t make it.
