FYI: Mikiala continues to be cancer free :) but still needs help paying off medical expenses.
Mikiala Spadaro and her family take a deep bow and send a loving thank you to you all who contributed to our Go-Fund-Me campaign. It is because of your love and financial contributions that we were able to raise critical funds to help Mikiala pay for her cancer treatments. Mikiala is doing well and is recovering.
What happened (a recap of Mikiala’s life in 2019):
At 40, Mikiala Spadaro, an environmentally conscious yoga and wellness instructor, was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. The consulting surgeon said Mikiala’s very large, fast-growing, aggressive tumor is a “killer”. Furthermore, the doctor insisted chemotherapy be used to shrink the tumor immediately or Mikiala “won’t see her 3 year-old son turn 5”. After consultation with several doctors, Mikiala determined the use of chemotherapy, along with the support of natural modalities, would give her the greatest chance for survival while keeping her entire system functioning for years to come.
Mikiala’s weekly 80 hour water fast, as well as high dose vitamin C infusions, made the cancer cells weak and more vulnerable to chemotherapy. Doctors were very impressed with how well she handled treatments, and how quickly her body shrunk the tumor with less side effects than typical. Her supplements, diet and additional IV infusions, kept Mikiala’s organs protected from high levels of toxicity. It was not an easy journey, and although full of challenges, Mikiala’s determination to come through this experience healthier than ever, and to be there for her three (now five) year old son, has fueled her will power to survive.
There are costs not covered by insurance, including all supportive or alternative treatments, and her naturopathic oncologist- who has been and continues to be- imperative in guiding Mikiala through the whole body treatment for full remission. To help Mikiala, we humbly request and need your help, love and support! We need to raise an additional $55,000 to pay for out-of-network doctor appointments.
We close this urgent and heartfelt plea with deep gratitude for your financial contributions. We also thank you for your loving and compassionate support, positive thoughts, prayers and well wishes. It would be so greatly appreciated if you help get the word out to those in your circles who may be moved to support this loving human who is learning to receive while she heals. We all know our healthcare system is broken and only help from our extended friends and family can relieve the financial struggle. As always, and especially in this time of need, we give great thanks for your kindness and generosity.
Mikiala’s request - “I ask you, my beloved friends, to see me as the strong and healthy person I am, and to surround me in a beautiful, healing white light.”
Love and blessings,
The Family and Friends of Mikiala Spadaro
