Please Help Save Lexxi: Critical Care After Life-Threatening Heat Stroke
Our beloved family member, Lexxi, is currently fighting for her life in the critical care unit after suffering a life-threatening heat stroke.
Lexxi went from being a normal, happy dog to collapsing and falling in and out of consciousness. When we rushed her to the emergency vet, the doctors were shocked to find her internal temperature was so high it was unreadable on their thermometer which was a terrifying indication of how close she was to multi-organ failure.
The extreme, uncontrolled temperature caused massive trauma to her body. The veterinarians confirmed this was a severe, high-risk case involving potential damage to her vital organs and central nervous system. She was immediately admitted to the critical care unit for aggressive cooling and stabilization.
The Financial Urgency
Thanks to the incredible work of the emergency team, Lexxi is now stabilized, but she is not yet out of the woods. The doctors need to keep her in the hospital for multiple days of intensive care and overnight monitoring.
We are now waiting anxiously for results, especially for her kidney function and blood clotting profile, as these are the most common and dangerous complications of severe heat stroke. Avoiding permanent organ damage and surviving the first 72 hours requires round-the-clock monitoring, specialized IV fluids, and medications to support every organ system.
The cost for this heroic, life-saving care has already climbed, and the continuing hospitalization costs are mounting daily. We want to give Lexxi the best chance at recovery and provide the full course of treatment her doctors recommend, but as a family, we do not have the financial means to cover the full expense.
How Your Donation Will Help
We are asking for your compassionate support to help cover her escalating veterinary bills. Every single dollar raised will go directly toward:
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Fees for round-the-clock staffing and monitoring.
• IV Fluid Therapy to protect her recovering kidneys and treat dehydration.
• Specialized Bloodwork to check for liver damage and the dangerous clotting disorder, DIC.
• Medications to manage any residual neurological symptoms and protect her gastrointestinal tract.
Lexxi is more than just a pet; she is a cherished, sweet, and integral member of our family. Please consider donating and sharing Lexxi's story. Your kindness and generosity will give us the chance to bring our sweet girl home.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
