Update: this is not the update I want to give. Today did not go as we hoped.

I want to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who donated, shared, and sent well wishes for Gilbert. Unfortunately, his little body was not strong enough to fight whatever was making him sick.

If you were lucky enough to meet him, you know he was such a special puppy. He did not get nearly enough time and deserved so much more. I’m so sad for him and for my daughter. We loved him so much. He will forever be in our hearts and not a day will pass that I don’t think of him.

Please help save Gilbert! Gilbert’s adoption was final on Saturday, September 13th. Yesterday he started getting sick and today he was hospitalized with elevated kidney and liver levels and they are not sure how long he will have to stay. Gilbert is very special to my daughter and her children. He arrived as a very sickly foster pup and he thrived on all the love and care he received. Tycenn loves him so much. They have had several foster pups and she knows that they are only staying until they find their furever family. With Gilbert, it was different. She knew that he needed her and she needed him. Now he needs as much help as he can get. My daughter never asks anybody for anything but is always willing to help if someone needs it.
