Hi everyone, and thank you for taking a moment to read this.

My name is Carrie, and this is my boy Billie my little shadow, my constant companion, and one of the brightest lights in our home.

Over the last few weeks, Billie has been battling struvite stones, a painful and dangerous condition that blocks a cat’s bladder. He’s already needed two emergency catheterisations, and despite special food and care, he is declining again. Tonight he is hiding, crying when he tries to pee, barely eating, and showing every sign of another painful blockage.

It’s devastating to watch him suffer like this.

I’ve already paid over €800 in vet bills and prescription food, and I would do anything for him… but right now, I’ve hit the end of my financial ability. I live off-grid in rural Portugal, and between vet emergencies, generator repairs, and daily life, I’ve reached a point where even my cupboards are starting to empty.

This is the hardest sentence I’ve ever had to write , but I simply cannot cover the next vet visit alone.

Billie needs urgent treatment, medications, follow-up care, and possibly more procedures to keep him alive and out of pain. These funds will go directly toward:

• Emergency vet appointments

• Pain relief and anti-spasmodic medication

• Diagnostic tests and imaging

• Follow-up treatments

• Prescription urinary food

• Transport to and from the vet

I’m embarrassed to ask for help, but his life matters more than my pride.
