Hi, I'm Shayna, Sarah Brewster ( once the editor of the Mariposa Tribune, Head Coach of Mariposa Special Olympics, artist, teacher at the CYA camp in Mt. Bullion, mapper at Mariposa County Assesors Office.....)'s daughter. Saturday, July 23rd, my mom's refuge and beautiful oasis of a home for 35 years, my brother and i's childhood home...the place where so many of our friends called their home away from home....burned to the ground in the Oak Fire. This fire was fast, and relentless. As of today, July 29th, 106 residences have been lost. So many people are displaced and without anything. I'm looking to raise some money for my mom, for immediate needs and supplies, as she made it out with her travel trailer, 2 dogs, 2 Tupperwares of family pictures and documents, and only a handful of clothes and toiletries. We had no idea it was going to burn so fast and so far. Her whole neighborhood is lost, with exception of 2 homes. That's at least 10 homes in her neighborhood. If you're able to help in anyway, even good thoughts, prayers or whatever you can, we would very much appreciate it! There are so many GFM accounts set up, and even community ones.
