On November 15th 2018, Terrie DeGelormo cradled her 20 month-old son, Ryan, for the last time as she put him to sleep for the night. Ryan’s world was forever changed when his mother was senseless murdered as he slept.
Ryan was her world and Terrie was his world. Terrie knew the fragility of life, and Ryan revived a love of life that her family and friends hadn’t seen in Terrie since before she lost her daughter. In 2013, Terrie lost her daughter Alexei, just shy of her 3rd birthday. She worked tirelessly to conceive Ryan after 4 years of unsuccessful IVF treatments. A piece of her heart was missing after the death of her daughter. She pushed her body to it limits to conceive Ryan and she went into pre-term labor at 28 weeks. She was able to fend off labor and spent four weeks on bedrest at the hospital to finally give birth to her miracle baby, Ryan Alexei DeGelormo on March 17, 2017. The pregnancy wasn’t easy on her. The joy of her pregnancy was tarnished by the news that she was going to be a single mother. Terrie faced this adversity as she did any other she faced in life- head on. As soon as she found out she was going to single parent she strategically planned her life to create a future for Ryan. She devised a plan to keep the house she bought and she dreamed of raising a child in. It was so important to Terrie to cherish every minute with her son. She spent the years after her daughter’s death dreaming of raising a child. All her hopes and dreams were crushed when she was taken from Ryan. This senseless act left her dreams of security and an educational future in jeopardy. Please help Ryan’s family carry out Terrie’s dreams for him.
