Rusiru Thennakoon is a second-year medical student from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia which requires an Allogenic Bone marrow transplant. He will be needing 15 Million LKR for his transplant. This amount translates to approximately 46,000 USD. There was some fundraising taken place on behalf of him already, which has raised around 21,000 USD. He is short of around 25000 USD of his goal.
