Please help Rose get the rehab she needs

Hi. I am Bonnie Gibbs. Rose Parker's daughter. The end of July my mom called me early in the morning to tell me that she couldn't get out of bed. Something happened in the middle of the night that seemed to paralyze her. The ambulance came and took her to physicians regional. They did x-rays and scans and found that she had five broken ribs and severe arthritis in her right hip. She was in the hospital for 11 days. She got out of the hospital and went to Woodside rehabilitation center. The place was a nightmare. They were incompetent and abusive. As soon as we could we hired a bedbound transport company to bring her to my house. We have Vitas home health care providing her with a hospital bed, bedside commode, And a shower chair. The only thing she's able to use right now is a hospital bed because she can't even get up on her own. She has not been out of bed for almost 6 weeks. We have also hired private duty nurses to come twice a day for a couple hours each time at $30 an hour. we have a physical therapist and a massage therapist coming also a couple of times a week. On Wednesday we hired the bedbound transport company again at $360 per trip to take her for an MRI at NCH. We had to get her admitted to the hospital. After they did the CAT scan they informed her that not only does she have the five broken ribs she's also got a broken back. She did not fall and the only thing we can figure out as to why her bones are breaking like this is because of her per prolonged prednisone usage. The doctor prescribed her prednisone for her breathing approximately 10 to 15 years ago and she has been on it ever since. Apparently prolonged steroid use can cause osteoporosis and brittle bones and bone breakage. She finally had the MRI and the results showed the same as the CAT scan. It also showed a small mass on her pancreas that we're not sure exactly what that is. They plan to do a verebro/kyphoplasty which uses something similar to cement to fix the breakage. She can't have surgery because of her breathing so this is her only option After that they want to send her from the hospital to a rehabilitation facility. Her insurance will not pay for this facility because they would rather send her to a "skilled nursing facility" for a quarter of the price. This skilled nursing facility is the same type of facility that she was abused in a few weeks ago. We would love to be able to get her the rehab that she needs but shockingly this facility charges $1700 per day. They will give her three hours of rehab every day and she will have to stay there for a week or more. When her time there is up she can be transferred back to my house and we will continue to do Private duty physical therapy here. We will also continue to hire the private duty nurses to come a couple of times a day to help her with the things that she doesn't necessarily want me to help with. All of the nurses that we have are wonderful and we feel like we're getting very good care . At this price the money sure goes fast. We're asking you to please find it in your hearts to donate any amount to help us continue this care for her. We are using the insurance company for everything that they will offer but they don't cover the private duty hired help etc... Thank you so much!!! God bless you all ❤️
