It is with a heavy but hopeful heart that I write this... My cousin Robin was recently diagnosed with breast cancer that has spread to her lungs, throat & stomach. As you can imagine this was absolutely devastating news and has turned her and her family's world upside down. Robin lives in Florida with her husband Billy and her son River who is in his second year of College.(You are amazing River!!)

As many of you know, battling cancer is not only emotionally draining but also financially burdensome. Due to the complications from cancer and the toll this disease has taken on Robin, she is now on leave from her job where she was thriving and excelling.

Recently, Robin started a new career leaving her job she had loyally been with for 18 years in the hopes of greater financial success. The sad truth is that the way insurance works is that you need to work for around 1,000 hours for your company, in order to qualify for the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) which allows for financial support. She will now need to go on COBRA insurance, which is significantly more expansive and she will not have any income from her job or qualify for FMLA. Our goal is to lift some of this financial weight off her shoulders, allowing her to focus on her health and well-being. Nobody should wake up in the morning while fighting a crappy disease more worried about financial security than healing their body. I desperately want to change this for her and her beautiful family!
