Please help Rico with his emergency spine surgery!

My Dearest Friends & Family... I never thought in a million years that I would have the need to start a GoFundMe page. My heart is shattered right now as my fur baby Rico is about to go into surgery for his spine. On 10/25/19 Rico ruptured a disc in his back leaving his back legs paralyzed. How this happened exactly is unknown, we came home to find him like this. We suspect jumping down off furniture. Within hours his health quickly deteriorated. Surgery will cost anywhere from $8,500-$11,000. Some people would say forget it! Put him down, it's "just a dog!" NOT A CHANCE!!! He is our WORLD!
Anybody who knows Rico & his story of how he came to be in our lives knows how much he means to me & the boys. He has healed our family through tough times & put us back together as a family after a difficult divorce.
For those of you who don't know his story... I will share a bit of background.
While vacationing in Puerto Rico in 2015 we found an abandoned puppy out side the El Yunque rain forest in Puerto Rico. He was in bad shape, near death. I knew I couldn't leave him. Through the help of Social media, Island Dog rescue & a small miracle, we were able to bring Rico back from Puerto Rico to Maryland. The rest is history... he has forever changed our lives for the good. Everybody always says- how good it was that we saved Rico! I say- No, Rico saved us in more ways than you will ever know.
